The Mirror Trap
The more you check, the worse it feels.

You check your hair.
Then again.
Then one more time before leaving.
It feels like control — but it’s not.
Every time you check, your brain gets the signal:
“This is a problem. Keep worrying.”
The habit grows stronger.
The anxiety gets worse.
Nothing actually changes —
except how you feel.
The way out isn’t fixing your hair.
It’s breaking the checking loop.
